When things settle down work wise, I'm going to start making some experimental pieces as inspirational demo items. Ooooohhhhh, my mind's off already....... :-D Will keep you posted.
Eeeeeeeek! Just had my masterclass proposal accepted at Warwick University Arts Centre....not till well after Christmas, but nevertheless.... It'll be on one of my favourite subjects - Japanese Pattern Cutting - a fabulous way of (sometimes!) starting with the end product :-) so a 3D object is reduced to a paper pattern, and seam allowance added. The pattern is then used to cut out the fabric, and then, the soft sculpture/garment/accessory can be made up...either in fabric or any other flexible material, and then sewn or attached in another way. These resulting soft shapes can be used as part of a piece of fashion / sports clothing, a method for creating shapes for costumes, or can be used in 3D arts projects - reliefs or sculptures. When things settle down work wise, I'm going to start making some experimental pieces as inspirational demo items. Ooooohhhhh, my mind's off already....... :-D Will keep you posted.
